Directional Couplers & Monitoring

COM-TECH Directional Couplers can be fit with up to six interchangeable Accuprobe-equipped probes—available as Single Accuprobe or Dual Accuprobe models. Thanks to the COM-TECH Modular Connector System they can be equipped with a wide variety of connectors. Directional Couplers can optionally be paired with Power Monitoring units for real-time measurement, logging, and alarm signaling of forward/reflected power, return loss, and VSWR. Thanks to their proven reliability, they are backed by a 10-Year Warranty.

Product Range

Directional Couplers
Available in all sizes from 7/8″ to 6-1/8″, with configurations from 2 to 6 Slots. Each Slot accommodates an Accuprobe-technology probe, offering flexibility to select and combine up to 6 probes, choosing between: types (Single or Dual Accuprobe), connectors (SMA or N), and coupling ranges.

Single Accuprobe
Single-connector Accuprobe-technology probes incorporating an integrated load and a convenient short-circuit button – simulating a full reflection for directivity check and amplifier shut-down protection test. Available with SMA or N female connectors, with various coupling ranges, and for the UHF, VHF B.III, VHF B.I, DAB, and FM operating bands. Interchangeable with all COM-TECH probes.

Dual Accuprobe
Double-connector Accuprobe-technology probes enabling simultaneous forward and reflected measurements on the same probe, saving cost and space. Available with SMA or N female connectors, with various coupling ranges, and for the UHF, VHF B.III, VHF B.I, DAB, and FM operating bands. Interchangeable with all COM-TECH probes.

Power Monitoring
Provides real-time measurement, logging, and alarm signaling of forward/reflected power, return loss, and VSWR in a compact and versatile 1U device. Features True-RMS reading, a web GUI with configurable thresholds for warnings and alarms, SNMP integration, interlock output contacts, built-in display and LEDs, and LAN interface. Available in 4-port and 8-port versions.

Combiners

Accuprobe
COM-TECH proprietary equalized-response Directional Coupler design, delivering highly accurate and flat coupling level equalization across the operating band (typical flatness: ±0.05 dB). It ensures wideband agility on transmitters and constant output levels on Combiners without requiring frequency correction tables. Implemented in DC Series Directional Couplers.

Coding

COM-TECH Directional Couplers use mnemonic codes, based on Product Series, No. Of Slots, Response, Coaxial Size, Number of Probes, Operating Band.

Eg. DC6A77/4B:

  • DC: Product Series (DC, DK…)
  • 6: No. of Slots (2, 3, 4, 6)
  • A: Response(A=Accuprobe)
  • 77: Coaxial Size: 23, 39
  • /4: No. of Probes (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 , 6)
  • B: Operating Band (C=UHF, B=VHF B.III-DAB, A=VHF B.I,  F=FM)
